Abstract
Tremendous changes in information technology and the Internet as whole have revolutionaljsed
many application areas, among which F-learning is a key achievement. The department of
distance learning at KIU was the orthodox method of education delivery to various students in
various localities. The collaborative E-learning system presented in this report provides an
incentive that students can enroll and register for E-learning programs. These are scheduled
periodically giving room for more students’ admission s to those who can’t physically come to
atttend classes at the compass.
En addition, it is significant that the scope of admission is widened by admission and
consequently, more revenue will accrue if such a system is operationalised. In this era of
echnology, the system brings with it many benefits as the following script presents.
~he development used Object-Oriented System Analysis and Design (OOSAD) approach along
vith the power of modeling as emphasized by Model Driven Architecture (MDA). Unified
4odeling Language (UML) was mainly used in both cases. Development made use of open
ource sofiware. For context specific development, participatory action research methodology
ias adopted and the inputs were well presented in developing an E-Learning Management
ystem (e-LMS). Customization of an open source Learning Management System (LMS)
[atforms was employed to help generate a timely solution to E-LMS development.
