Abstract
This study was carried out in Chap Chap educational zone to assess the roles of head teachers in managing schools. The following objectives guided the study; to establish the role of head teachers as coordinators and organizers of school activities. To establish how effective head teacher are in information handling and communication. To assess how effective head teachers were in playing the supervisory role. The instruments used to collect data was a questionnaire which was distributed to teachers to rate their head teachers. Finding showed that a great number of head teachers performed on average their role of coordinating and organizing schools activities but majority were average in communicating and handling information and were good in motivating the workers in school organizations. It was recommended that they go for further training since they had lowly qualification and to gain more knowledge and skills in management.
