dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of the study is to examine the impact of organizational capacity building on community development: a case study of Matheniko County, Moroto district. The objectives of the study were; To examine the impact of organization capacity building on community development, To support learning providers to identify, plan and take the steps needed to position them as key drivers of and partners in community development, and finally to identify organization capacity building’s legal and regulatory framework for community development. The study employed descriptive and analytical research design and used self administered questionnaires. A sample size of 60 respondents was selected. The findings revealed that. The minimal organizational capacity building in Matheniko county reveals that the role of stakeholders like NGOS, office of the prime minister, United Nations programme-Uganda (2010-2012) and Moroto District Local Government’s annual plan to work hand in hand to support the implementation of livelihoods’ related activities in order to building the capacities of communities in various fields ranging from human beings’ welfare. They also reveal that, the state and non state actors have the primary responsibility to implement international regional and National laws that deal with organizational capacity building and train the local people on how they can be agents of their own development in their respective communities. Conclusions were drawn from the research objectives of the study. , the concerned stakeholders like the government should have a positive attitude in supporting multiple efforts provided by the international community and CBOs aimed at increased OCB so as to cause a positive impact on community development as explained above. The researcher recommends that improving policy response through country level, Matheniko county level, promoting research and data collection on the impact of organizational capacity building on community development goes hand in hand with increased targeting of the NgiKarachunas (youths) for peace meetings and convincing women to desist from encouraging the youth into cattle raiding activities, construction of security roads and common markets remain the best in fostering cross boarder relationships a well a improve security. For in unity and togetherness alone shall community development always be successful. | en_US |
