dc.description.abstractThe study is about credit risk management and profitability of commercial banks in Uganda, a case study of Centenary Bank Bundibugyo Branch. Purpose of the Study is to ascertain the effect of credit risk management on profitability of commercial banks while basing on findings from the study of Centenary Bank in Uganda. The study is guided by three research objectives namely; to examine the credit risk management practices in Centenary Bank-Bundibugyo branch, to establish the determinants of profitability of Centenary Bank-Bundibugyo Branch and to examine the Impacts of Credit Risk Management on Profitability of Centenary Bank Bundibugyo Branch. The study is based on a descriptive research design to enable the researcher use qualitative and quantitative technique in collecting and analyzing data. The study is based on a population of 400 workers/ staff of Centenary Bank Bundibugyo Branch and sample of 136 respondents has been taken using Slovene's formula. The sample of 200 employees has been drawn and purposive sampling has been used and questionnaires and observations have been used as research instruments. The study acquired information from both primary and secondary data, whereby primary data was obtained through questiom1aires and secondary data was collected through the use of a literature survey from both published and non-published reviewed materials such as books, reports, articles, documents, journals and internet resources will be used. Data was analyzed. The response rate was carried out using tables, Percentages and frequencies as this was relatively simple. After data was collected, the researcher! got the percentages of the response and recorded the response rate in relation to the phenomenonen_US
