dc.description.abstractThis research was conducted at PIT HILL Primary School Located In Kawempe Mbogo, Flao Zone in Kawempe Division, Kampala District on the topic, the effects of child labor on the academic performance of pupils in primary schools in Kampala .The research was based on the four objects which included ; finding out the effects of child labor on the academic performance of pupils in primary schools, finding out the existing policies that can be implemented by major stakeholders in addressing child labor, finding out possible problems faced by the major stake holders, and escalating possible measures of improving the academic performance of pupils in primary schools. The study established that ; public sensitization on child labor, exposing negative effects of child labor on the academic performance of pupils in primary schools, holding talk shows against child labor, establishing laws against child labor acts in Uganda can help bring down the challenge of child labor. Regarding findings, the information collected through questionnaires permitted the researcher to interpret and analyses the findings. The researcher distributed a number of questionnaires and all were returned dully filled. This was 100 percent which makes the research results valid. Conclusively the government should examine ways of ensuring on measures to address child labor so as to improve on the academic performance of pupils in primary schools. The researcher recommends, primary schools should not hesitate in trying all measures to bring down all obstacles to the hindrance of the academic performance of pupils in primary schools in Kampala. This should be done in collaboration with parents, community leaders and major stake holders in the government in fighting child labor.en_US
