Abstract
This study dealt with examination of the relationship between primary health care and the health status of people in selected areas of Lwemiyaga Sub County Ssembabule district. The study was based on analysis of secondary and primary data about primary health care and the health status of people in selected areas of Lwemiyaga Sub County Ssembabule district and Uganda in pai~icular. Generally, the dissertation had five chapters with several sub-sections under each chapter. Chapter one presented the introduction, under which there were subsections like; background of the study, statement of the problem, research objectives, research questions, scope of the study and significance of the study plus the conceptual framework. Chapter two presented the literature review about the relationship between primary health care and the health status of people in selected areas of Lwemiyaga Sub County Ssembabule district; Chapter three described the methodology used in collection of data where 80 respondents were chosen to represent the other remaining population and at the end all were retrieved. Then after chapter four and five were added and finally the research report was produced. Chapter [‘our and five involved presentation of the study findings, interpretation and discussion of findings, conclusions and recommendations The methodology used was both descriptive and explanatory. Data was collected by use of questionnaires. A case study research design was used to select the respondents from Lwemiyaga, and the Ssembabule district at large. The findings from the research were in position to show the relationship between primary health care and the health status of people in selected areas of Lwemiyaga Sub County Ssembabule district. From the study findings, female represented more than male with a percentage of 62.5% in comparison to male who had only 37.5%. Still from the findings most of the respondents could easily read and write since a bigger percentage had at least completed secondary with 22.5% which made data collection in terms of questionnaires easy and simple. Hence to a greater extent most of the respondents agreed that they get access to healthcare services though challenged by poor infrastructures. Hence from the study findings it is recommended that the Ugandan government should join hands and work with people and as well work with local people at the grass root to deliver health services.
