This study investigates the teacher's attitude to inspection, effectiveness of Head teachers' supervision and the quality of inspections done by the Quality Assurance and Standard Officers (QASO). It also tries to examine the extent to which it can affect teacher and learner performance. The specific purpose of the study is to determine whether there is significant relationship between supervision and productivity. The study will be carried out in Baringo North District- Kabartonjo Division. The study will be guided by McGregors' theory "X" and "Y" assumption on human nature and behavior. The researcher hypothesizes that, supervision is one activity greatly disliked by many teachers, who reckon that it is an intimidating, harassing and outdated practice that calls for its review if not utter elimination. Literature review is centered on supervision inspection, management and implementation levels and the role of inspectors. The study will be carried out in eight public primary schools and four private schools. QASOs will also respond to the questionnaire’s, whose raw data analyzed. The study targets head teachers, teachers and inspectors as respondents. The research instruments to be used in data collection were open and closed ended questionnaires. Descriptive and inferential statistics will be employed in interpretation and presentation of the analyzed data. These include tabulations of frequencies and percentages.en_US
