    Blended teaching and workload management in primary schools Kalagala Subcounty Luwero district Uganda

    The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Blended learning and workload management in Primary schools of Kalagala Sub county, the objectives were to examine the levels of blended learning on work lard management in primary schools of Kalagala sub county, to find out the nature work lord management in primary schools Kalagala sub county and to examine the relationship between Blended learning and work lord management in Primary schools Kalagala sub county The study was guided by Guilickman 2020 model of blended learning in Primary schools. The study adopted an exploratory research design. The target population was 553 respondents in secondary schools; composed of 65 head teachers, 65 deputy head teachers, 65 directors and 310 classroom teachers. The researcher took a sample size of 30% of target population in consideration adequate from researcher duration. Data was collected using questionnaires for teachers and interview schedule for principals. Prior to the actual data collection procedures, a piloting study was also conducted in 10% of the target population to test the reliability and validity of the instruments. The research methodology used was mixed methodology Quantitative data was analyzed using Pearson Correlation Coefficient with the help of SPSS computer programme. Qualitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, counts and percentages and presented thematically in line with the objectives. The study found out that Blended learning programs in Kalagala sub county primary schools is moderate as also respondents also did not agree that nature of work lord management depends on teachers‟ availability but not distributed eqaly. It also found out that the teachers are not well vest with computer knowledge which makes online learning difficult in Kalagala Sub county Primary schools. Also found moderate response that very few lessons teachers‟ miss during face to face learning. The study recommended that important for supervisors to make sure that all schools create work lord management programs that will help schools to crate ways for teachers to improve on their individual teacher training blended teaching and learning in Primary schools more especially Kalagala sub county.

    Corona virus prevention and teacher lifestyle in primary schools in Munuki town block Central Equatoria state South Sudan

    The study investigated the corona virus prevention on teacher life style in Primary schools in Munuki town block Central Equatoria State South Sudan. It is guided by the following specific objectives; to investigate the levels of corona virus prevention on teachers‟ lifestyle in Munuki town block Central Equatoria State South Sudan. To assess the teachers‟ lifestyle activities of Primary schools in Munuki town block central Equatoria state South Sudan. To analyze the relationship between corona virus prevention measures and teacher lifestyle in Primary schools of Munuki town block Central Equatoria State South Sudan. The null hypothesis which states that „There is no relationship between corona virus prevention and teachers‟ lifestyle in Primary schools of Munuki town block Central Equatoria state South Sudan‟. The study employed exploratory research design. It was used because the researcher hope to know whether there is a relationship between corona virus prevention measures and teacher lifestyle in Munuki town block South Sudan. A target population of 240 respondents was used and through use of Krecjie and Morgan Table of sample size estimation, the study came up with a sample size of 177 respondents. However, in collection of questionnaires 168 were retrieved. The data was analyzed using frequency, percentage and Pearson Linear Correlation Coefficient. Both purposive sampling and random sampling techniques were used to select respondents. The findings revealed that Head teachers take into consideration the number of children to remain in each classroom and this had a mean of 3.53 and standard deviation of 1.194 which was equivalent to high on the Likert Scale. This implies that most of the respondents were aware that a lot still needs to be addressed by management of primary schools to prevent corona virus to be spread among learners and teachers.

    Deforestation and micro climate change in Kiringente Sub- County, Mpigi District Uganda

    The study showed the relationship between Deforestation and micro-climate change in Kiringente sub-county, Mpigi District, Uganda . It was guided by three objectives, to examine the trends of deforestation in Kiringente sub county, Mpigi district, Uganda,to establish the effects of deforestation on micro climate change in Kiringente sub county, Mpigi district, Uganda, to determine the relationship between deforestation and micro climate change in Kiringente Sub County, Mpigi district, Uganda. The study applied across sectional survey design which involved both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. The study population was 150 and a sample size of 109 respondents.In conclusion, it is noted that there is a statistically significant relationship between deforestation and micro-climate change in Kiringente sub-county, Mpigi District, Uganda and hence the null hypothesis was rejected.The study recommended that the government of Uganda should prioritize the development and implementation of comprehensive policies and regulations that promote sustainable land management practices and discourage deforestation. These policies should include strict enforcement mechanisms to combat illegal logging and land-use practices that contribute to deforestation. The government should invest in capacity building and awareness programs to educate local communities, stakeholders, and policymakers about the detrimental effects of deforestation on the microclimate. This can be achieved through workshops, training sessions, and public campaigns that highlight the importance of preserving forests for climate regulation, water resources, and biodiversity conservation. NEMA (National Environment Management Authority) should play a crucial role in addressing deforestation and its impact on microclimate change in Kiringente sub-county, Mpigi district, Uganda. Firstly, NEMA should strengthen its regulatory and enforcement mechanisms to effectively monitor and control deforestation activities. This includes conducting regular inspections, imposing penalties on illegal loggers, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

    School facilities and completion rates in primary schools in Gweri sub-county, Soroti district, Uganda.

    The study investigated the relationship between school facilities and completion rates in primary schools in Gweri Sub-County, Soroti District, Uganda. To achieve the purpose of the study, where specific objectives were set out and these included; to find out the level of school facilities in primary schools in Gweri Sub-county, to assess the level of co9mpletion rates of learners in primary schools in Gweri Sub-county and to establish the relationship between school facilities and completion rates in primary schools in Gweri Sub-county. The design used in this study was descriptive correlation involving both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The sample size was 333. Purposive and simple random sampling were used to chose the respondents. Questionnaires and interview guides were used to gather the data. Validity and reliability of the instruments were determined. Frequencies, percentages and means were used to analyze the data. Pearson Linear Correlation was used to determine the relationship between the variables at 0.05 level of significance. The results revealed that the school facilities in primary schools Gweri Sub-county was poor with a mean of 2.04. While the completion rates was poor especially in primary schools were most of the school facilities were lacking. There is a relationship between school facilities and completion rates. The null hypothesis was rejected. Based on the findings, the conclusions school facilities were crucial for achieving high learners completion rates. The study recommends that the government should provide good facilities to the primary schools in Gweri Sub-county to motivate pupils to learn effectively to avid drop-outs.

    Predictors of Girl-Child Education and Retention in Primary Schools in Mogadishu Somalia.

    The study set to establish the Predictors of Girl Child Education and Retention in primary schools in Mogadishu Somalia. The objectives were to establish the relationship between Schools related predictive factors and retention in Primary Schools in Mogadishu Somalia assess the relationship between family related factors and Retention of pupils in Primary Schools in Mogadishu Somalia .The study also examine relationship between family related factors and Retention in Primary Schools in Mogadishu Somalia. The study employed a descriptive research design were research was conducted in the schools in Mogadishu and data was collected from 92 respondents. The analysis was done based on descriptive statistics to determine the relationship between the variables. The findings revealed that schools related factors had a significant relationship with girl child retention in schools in Mogadishu Somalia had 0.000. Secondly family related factors have significant related to child retention in schools in Mogadishu Somalia. The study concludes that school factors like school climate and girls' education was basically related. The study notes that in addition to ensuring that there is a positive report of necessity of woman education,girls retention in primary school is affected by school related factors. The study concludes that the economic factors generally very positively related to the retention of the girl children in schools. The prevalence of the positive economic environment induces the retention of the girl children in schools in Mogadishu. The study recommend enhancement of school related factors, there is need for improving teacher competency and attitude towards girls’ educationin addition to a reasonable salary, professional development, and training, plus appropriateinstructional materials and performance appraisals which would contribute to quality of education andconsequently girls’ retention. Family related environment need to be improved.Ample training, therefore, should be provided forcommunity members through adult literacy clubs, and community learning centers to improvegirls retention in school.When parents’ incomes increase, they would be able to provide for children in school.
