- ItemTribal clashes and education on some selected secondary schools in Isiolo district, Kenya.(Kampala International University, College of Education Open and Distance Learning, 2008-04) Salad, Malicha Guyo"It is of course well known that the only source of war is politics ........... War is simply a continuation of political intercourse, with the addition of other means" - Carl Von clause witz. War may be defined as; a state of open, armed, often prolonged conflict carried on between nation’s states or parties or a condition of active antagonism or contention Education is increasingly becoming universal. History of Education is both long and short. In 1994, Dieter Lenzaen, President of the Freie Universitat, said 'Education began either millions of years ago or at the end of 1770". This quote by lenzen includes the idea that education as a science cannot be separated from the educational traditions that existed before. Education was the natural response of early civilization to the struggle of surviving and thriving as a culture with shot description of both table clashes and education, the two factors have had a lot of effect since the ardent of shifta war in early sixties. It has necessitated me to carry out on a brief report on the significance of tribal clashes on the general performance of Education. Many are times when people live in perpetual fear, neighbors turning against one another owing to the fact that they subscribe to the different ethnic groups. The tribal hegemonies have controlled Isiolo District m general for a long period of time leading to destruction of private property, making people live in internally displaced persons camps and the unfortunate of all it leads loss of life. 1-n education context tribal clashes have had devastating effect in the sense that educational infrastructure have been turned into ruins, teachers displaced and students fail to attend classes due to constant fear.

- ItemDesign and Implementation of Sms Bus Booking System to Increase Efficiency and Effectiveness of Bus Services: A Case Study of Link Bus Company(Kampala International University, bachelor's degree of computer science, 2011-06) Busingye Godfrey, MugishaBus ticketing process in Africa is one of the slowest and time wasting yet it is the mains means of travel between the capital cities to major towns. Currently use of mobile telephone is widespread and considerable penetration has been achieved. In Uganda the application of SMS-based bus ticketing system is yet to be explored. This comes in the light that Uganda’s bus travel business has grown steadily over time without matching improvement in ticketing or booking services. For long there has complaints and dissatisfaction among the public because travelers move long distances to book tickets and suffer congestion at bus terminals, unnecessary time wasting as a result of misplaced tickets and unauthorized agents who can cause financial loses. Ticket booking at bus companies is inherently time consuming, inconvenient and sometimes frustrating for time conscious passengers and therefore there is need to develop efficient mechanism that operates through an increasingly available technology like the mobile phone and specifically through a widely used application like SMS. The study examined SMS bus booking reduced terminal congestion, minimize time wastage and eliminate unnecessary expenditure. Mobile ticketing is the process whereby customers can order, pay for, obtain and validate tickets from any location and at any time using mobile phones. The passenger downloads the essential program onto his /her mobile phone. This program allows the passenger to press a button to send an SMS to server indicating their travel details (Departure Date, Departure time, Destination Town, Departure Town). An SMS is sent back to acknowledge receipt, confirmed reservation, or to inform the passenger that no seat or vehicle is available for that travel time. Payment (fare) may also be implemented by MOBILE MONEY, Credit cards or Cash. The ‘reply’ SMS contain the bus booking number for the customer to call. SMS booking has been steadily employed in different parts of the world to improve the service industry. Considering the fact that the cost a Mobile Phone is lowering in Uganda thereby increasing its availability among the population, we can take the advantage of its SMS application to solve a business requirement so as be able to help the stakeholders offer quality service in the market place.

- ItemTeacher motivation and academic performance of pupils in Universal Primary Education schools in Baitambogwe Sub county, Mayuge District Uganda(Bachelor of Computer Science with Education, 2017-08) Muhudi, BukenyaTeacher motivation has become an important issue given their responsibility to impart knowledge and skills to learners. Consequently, this report is a study carried out in Baitambogi’ve sub-county, in Mayaige district which aimed at studying the relationship between teacher motivation and academic performance of pupils in Universal Primary Education (UPE) Schools. Teacher motivation has been seen to be at its lowest in Baitambogwe sub-county, this stemming from a number of variables ranging from personal variables like age, gender, marital status etc. Situational / organizational variables like salary (pay), supervision, working conditions, company policy, recognition etc. These have greatly contributed to the demonization of teachers and hence a dramatic fall in academic performance of pupils in UPE schools. Wafiila (199]) also suggests that among the factors that demean the teaching profession in African countries are poor buildings in which teachers operate. Herman (1999), cited various factors that demotivates workers among which include low salaries, lack of fringe benefits, poor working conditions. In order to improve teacher motivation and performance at work, the study recommended increase in the salary of primary teachers to match the increased cost of living, provision of accommodation to teachers, strengthening of supervision as well as instituting awards for good performance, among others Research findings have found out that the ma/or demotivates cited by Herman (999,) are predominantly embraced in most UPE schools in Uganda and hence the need to investigate the case of Baitambogwe sub-county in Mayuge District.
