    The imp act of drug abuse on academic performance of learners in secondary schools in Roret division, Getarwet village, Roret zone of Bureti district of rift valley province in Kenya

    The study examined the impact of drug abuse on academic performance of learners. The general objectives of the study were to investigate the causes of drug abuse and its impact on academic performance of learners. The study took a quantitative approach to collect and interpret the data. The study also employed a descriptive survey design to carry out the study• and used a questionnaire as a tool to collect data. The population targeted was Secondary school teachers and ECO teachers who were sampled using the simple random sampling to get the teachers who would fill the questionnaire. These teachers were used to investigate the effects of drugs abuse to learning in ECO centres and lower Secondary school. After the researcher has analyzed the questionnaire, it was established that there is drug abuse in the zone. It was also found out that the most commonly abused drug is alcohol. It is also evident that drug abuse has negative effects to learning for instance learners who indulge in drug abuse have low academic achievements and indiscipline cases. The researcher recommends that trained personnel handles cases of drug abuse to stop its effects on learning and be done through guiding and counseling.

    Factors influencing indiscipline of students in secondary school in Kishta Division, Bugangaizi County, in Kibaale District Uganda: A Case Study of Kishta Division

    The study on the factors influencing indiscipline of students in Secondary schools in Kisiita Division was carried out with the main objective of examining the factors influencing indiscipline of students. The specific objectives of the study were to establish whether the family background is a factor that influences indiscipline in selected Secondary schools, to assess the laxity of administration influences indiscipline among students in selected Secondary schools, to determine whether the welfare of students influences indiscipline in selected Secondary schools, to find out whether the quality of meals influences students indiscipline and to find out whether the punishments can influence the indiscipline of students. The research objectives were tested by means of questionnaires, documentation and observation, the researcher discovered that most of the students were happy with the welfare and meals that were provided at school because the food was not of good quality and this makes them to be in disciplined. Consequently, can be observed that if welfare, meals are not improved then indiscipline is bound to occur still
