    Ethical practices and contract management in ministry of finance, budget and national planning (Nigeria )

    The study assessed the effect of ethical practices on contract management in ministry of finance, budget and national planning Nigeria. The study objectives were to determine the effect of accountability on contract management in ministry of finance , budget and national planning Nigeria, to determine the effect of integrity on contract management in ministry of finance , budget and national planning Nigeria and finally to establish the effect of transparency on contract management in ministry of finance , budget and national planning Nigeria. The study findings based on the data collected from 112 respondents who provided information quantitatively based on a descriptive research design. The study employed descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the effect between the variables of the study. The results show that accountability had a significant effect on contract management in ministry of finance, budget and national planning Nigeria (Sig value= 0.000). Integrity had a significant effect on contract management in ministry of finance, budget and national planning Nigeria (Sig value of 0.000). Thirdly there was a significant effect of transparency on contract management in ministry of finance, budget and national planning Nigeria. The researcher conclude that improved transparency is an avenue for the generation of effective contract management in the ministry, the study concludes that generating an improved focus transparency is necessary for enhancing the contract management. Secondly the study conclude that increased focus on transparency in the ministry can lead to generation of effectiveness in contract management thirdly the study The study conclude that the accountability is a key inducement for the attainment of effective contract management for the ministry of finance. The studies recommend that the procurement of consultancy services these issues are not as big as for example when the government need procure goods or infrastructure services where more subcontractors are involved. To solve problems connected to these issues the procuring authorities can always specify criteria connected to environmental issues in the contract specifications. The ministry need to have an open bidding and evaluation process through establishing capacity of contractors through careful evaluation, their capacity to manage the money extended to them and monitor the suppliers‟ service level. There is need for developing transparency to enhance contract management in the ministry of finance.

    The research topic "effect of outsourcing on the organizational performance," the case of Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited (KPRL), Mombasa Kenya. The main objectives of the study included. To find out the effect of outsourcing on the organization performance. To find out the process of outsourcing in the organization To examine the relationship between outsourcing and performance of the organization To find out solutions to the effects of outsourcing The literature review presents works of other scholars on areas of outsourcing. The literature review is organized in such a way that it correlates with the objectives of the study and gives an insight into what researcher has done in as far as answering the research questions. The study area deception and methodology o the study offers a concise discussion of the methodological aspects used in the study looking to how various tools were used to collect data from KPRL as well as way in which all the information collected was processed, analyzed and presented discussed and so on. The presentation and discussion of the findings is around the themes relating to the objectives, variables and research questions of the study. Here the effects of outsourcing on the organization performance are analyzed. Finally the conclusions focus on the references from the research and answers to the research questions are briefly discussed in this area.

    Procurement procedures and service delivery of drugs in Uganda’s public hospitals: A case study of Butabika hospital

    The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of procurement methods and procedures and service delivery of drugs in Uganda public hospitals using a case study .of Butabika Hospital. The study was to find out the level of adherence, compliance to the procurement methods /procedures at Butabika hospital. The objectives of study were to identify of effect of procurement methods and procedures on the organizational performance in public hospital. It will also identify the problem faced in Using procurement methods and procedure in public hospital. The study used case study involving quantitative and qualitative methods. The study will involve 20 staffs in management and 21 staff in non - management totaling 41 staffs of Butabika hospital. The finding are supported by fact that much of findings in public procurement is through grants which are subjected to a lot of statutory and regulatory requirement creating red tape bureaucracy. Result also revealed that there is strong realization that problem exist in the use of procurement methods and procedures. This implies that even though the methods have registered success, there are as well setbacks that must be corrected in order to improve the success factor. In respect to strategic procurement and procedures in general, more consultation should be made with the wider community and with stakeholder in procurement system, especially of public who was directly affected by out came of procurement. Procurement practitioner' Association should be established where representative from centre of expertise and various procuring entities should meet regularly to inform test and develop policies and where appropriate operationalize issues. And bureaucracy which was noted for slowing down the rate of acquisition should be minimized if an organization is to reap from the benefit of the, procurement method and procedures.

    Records management and organizational efficiency in Uganda: A case of Uganda Christian University-Mukono

    The study is about Records Management and Organizational Efficiency. Uganda Christian Uganda Mukono was used as a case study. The research problem was that various aspects of records management in public and private institutions highlighted that there was lack of an efficient and reliable information management system to keep all stakeholders informed, inadequate trained personnel, to handle data collection, poor data processes and retention schedules, inadequate space, unclear chain of command, etc. The researcher's purpose of the study was to explore the effect of records management on organizational efficiency. The researcher used the following objectives to help in the investigations about the problem stated: • To examine the influence of Records Management on efficiency at the University. • To explore and make a critique of methods used by the University to manage records. • To examine the effectiveness of Information Communication Technology in managing records. • To establish the challenges faced by the University in modernizing the records management system. Data was collected using both primary and secondary sources. Primary sources involved the researcher's findings from the case study using questionnaires while Secondary sources involved existing literature published in textbooks and periodicals by different authors. After a careful analysis of the collected data, a conclusion in Chapter Five was made that records management significantly contributions to efficiency of any organization. Records are needed for planning purposes, for reference in future, and very many things as identified in this report
