Analysis of variance was conducted using means of percentages and report using frequency distributions and tables. It was established that new teaching methodologies and teaching resources be adopted to improve ECDE performance. Finally, suggestions for further study were made to cover a large sample. The study also noted that there are other factors that affect ECDE and lead to low and discouraging performance in curriculum activities. Such factors include: (i) Lack of awareness of the importance of early child hood education in parents and guardians. The parents in the locality keep their children at home until they are over age and instead of bringing the children to ECDE center, they prefer taking them strait to standard one. Such children lack basic education of early years, which affects them in school and their later education days. (ii) Gender basis The researcher noted with much concern that most parents and guardians in the division value boys' education more than girls' education. Such discrimination lead to some girl children being deprived of their early child education and others drop from school early which in return lead to unsuccessful marriages and parental hood (iii)Lack of motivation to the ECDE children Children in the early years of their education need motivation from their teachers, parents and other caregivers. Most children dislike education due to discouragements and Unconducive environment which demotivate them to learn. A well-motivated child shows the following features. (a) Involves the whole mind in learning (b) Have deeper concentration (c) Knows what he/she wants to do (d) The child is not worried about failing and is fi•ee from anxiety (e) To him/her time pass very quickly. (f) Use the ordinary senses of self-consciousness According to behaviorist theory, our behavior is at the mercy of external forces, such as rewards that we receive. Therefore, our motivation is always extrinsic and so is the child's behavior. Traditional practices and taboos the parents observe some ceremonies such as burial and manage ceremonies so keenly that they hinder the children from the ECDE centers as frequent as expected. This led to some children being discouraged and feel withdrawn from the school life
